Diversity and Inclusion in the UN System in Indonesia

Achieving diversity and inclusion within the UN System in Indonesia is a core organizational priority. It reflects equitable representation across geographical, gender, generational, and multilingual perspectives, as well as the inclusion of persons with disabilities. This commitment is not only guided by our mandates but also aligns with the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The diverse and dynamic nature of the UN’s work in Indonesia – from peacebuilding to sustainable development – demands a workforce that reflects the richness of the communities we serve. A balanced, inclusive, and multitalented team is essential to delivering effective, impactful, and equitable solutions for all Indonesians.

By embracing diversity, we cultivate a workplace where differences in backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities are not only respected but celebrated. This approach enhances collaboration, creativity, and innovation while ensuring that our efforts are rooted in inclusivity and equality.

The UN in Indonesia is committed to eliminating barriers and biases, fostering a safe and enabling environment where everyone – regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, or background – can thrive and reach their full potential. This not only strengthens our capacity to deliver results but also serves as a role model for the communities and stakeholders we work alongside.

Together, through diversity and inclusion, we can amplify our collective impact and create a more equitable, sustainable, and peaceful future for all.
