Programme Title: UN in Indonesia Joint Traineeship Programme for Diversity and Inclusion

UN in Indonesia is initiating a traineeship programme tailored to increase diversity, inclusivity, and youth empowerment within the workforce. This programme is aimed at mirroring the diverse essence of the populations the UN serves in Indonesia, emphasizing the principle of Leaving No One Behind (LNOB). All eligible youth are invited to apply.

Number of trainee positions available: 3

Traineeship period

October 2023 – May 2024 (for 6 months) or October 2023 – September 2024 (for 12 months) *Timeline may vary across UN agencies

Eligibility

Minimum qualifications
  • 18-26 years of age when applying for the traineeship
  • Have 0-3 years of experience.
  • Enrolled in a university or recent graduate (within 1 year)
  • Proficient in English

Targeted/preferred candidate

  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Low-Income Families (Holder of Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP), Kartu Indonesia Sehat (KIS), or Kartu Simpanan Keluarga Sejahtera (KSKP).
  • Individuals living in underdeveloped regions as identified in the Presidential Regulation No. 63/2020.
  • Other candidate groups as targeted by the UN agency

Selection process

  • The host entity creates a Description of Assignment and confirms funding in the Unified Volunteering Platform (UVP).
  • UNV sources candidates and submits them to the Host Entity for review in UVP.
  • Host entity reviews, tests, and/or interviews submitted candidates.
  • The host entity shares the outcome of the selection process with UNV online in UVP.
  • UNV prepares offers for selected candidates in UVP.
  • Candidates accept the offer and go through the pre-departure formalities.
  • The host entity prepares for the arrival of the volunteer.

  • Copy of Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP), Kartu Indonesia Sehat (KIS), or Kartu Simpanan Keluarga Sejahtera (KSKP) (*Only for those who want to be considered as low-income families)

What the programme offers*

  • Entry lumpsum USD 400 and Exit allowance IDR 734.371
  • Allowance of IDR 5.287.473 monthly
  • Relocation costs for those coming outside of commuting distance.
  • Learning opportunities and annual leave (2.5 days per month).
  • Insurance (Comprehensive coverage for health, life, and malicious acts)
  • Trainees will be paired with in-house mentors, ensuring a holistic learning experience.
