“The UN in Indonesia shares the concern and sympathy of many people who are worried for their own health and that of their friends and family at this time. The emergence of any new pathogen with the potential to cause severe illness and death is of grave concern and must be taken with the utmost seriousness. The United Nations system – through WHO (Indonesia) – is working closely with the national government, civil societies, scientists, clinicians, supply chain experts and partners from the public and private sector – in delivering a robust support system to respond to the issue. Lastly, the UN family in Indonesia would like to commend all frontline health and emergency service workers who are working to respond to the situation.”
