“Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization at Work” forum

The International Labour Organization (ILO) Country Office for Indonesia and Timor-Leste is convening a high-level national forum titled “Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization at Work.” This event, taking place on Wednesday, 30 April 2025, from 12:00 to 15:30 WIB at Gran Mahakam Hotel, Jakarta, will serve as a platform to explore the transformative impact of AI and digital technologies on occupational safety and health (OSH). As workplaces evolve under the wave of digital transformation, the forum will examine both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI-driven systems—ranging from smart monitoring and automation to algorithmic management and extended reality. It will address crucial concerns such as digital fatigue, data privacy, and human-machine interaction, while also highlighting real-world applications that enhance worker safety and rights protection.

With participation from policymakers, academia, private sector leaders, trade unions, and OSH experts, the forum aims to foster strategic dialogue on harnessing AI for safer, healthier, and more inclusive workplaces. Keynote presentations, panel discussions, and expert commentaries will dissect the policy, operational, and regulatory landscapes influencing AI adoption in OSH. A special launch of an ILO study titled "Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work” will offer new insights into emerging trends and global best practices. The event will also be broadcast live on ILO TV Indonesia’s YouTube channel, promoting wider public engagement.
